About Vridi

We provide services for the development of children facing difficulty in the areas of social skills, self-care, cognitive ability, communication and motor skills. Our integrated approach named 'NP-Protocol' is evidence-based, scientifically-proven and administered in a home-like setting. Our primary focus is not only the child but also the parents and relatives of the child. We provide training for parents in therapies, interventions and behavioural approaches.

Our Vision

To help children facing challenges in essential life skills to unlock doors and meet the world with full confidence.

We do this by:
  1. Providing services that nurture essential life skills in children
  2. Enabling parents to provide the right interventions and therapies for the treatment of children
  3. Raising social awareness to remove misconceptions about Autism, ADHD and other related disorders

Our Story

My personal experience, dealing with developmental disorder and child care, is the primary driver for my aspiration to set out an NGO – Trust for underprivileged.

My first son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS (Autism Spectrum Disorder) when he was fifteen months old. I had the first-hand experience of observing the symptoms: poor eye contact, resistance to being held or touched, delayed speech, difficulty reading facial expressions and gestures, preference to be alone or aloof. During his treatment began learning about child development, developmental psychology, disability types and cognitive science and pursing my research on theory of mind, communication and behavioural disorder. I improved my knowledge in the above and related areas by visiting libraries, researching articles on the internet, assisting therapists, discussions with the professors, paediatric and neuro paediatric doctors and interacting with parents of children with similar disorders.

The treatment started showing good results - my son showed improvements in speech, name call response, fine motor skills, understanding facial gestures, more independent self-help skills, and adapting to frequent changes in the environment. I created therapy checklist, assigned targets to improve his sensory mechanism and helped him achieve the targets. The diet therapy and biomedical intervention with the help of a paediatrician produced improved results. His behaviours and temper tantrums are now well controlled through home based time out system and Ethan’s behaviour plan model. After six years since the diagnosis, my son is now a successful student in a normal school, scoring A+ grade.

During the past six years I delved into areas related to developmental psychology such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, theory of mind, behavioural modification, relationship development intervention, cognitive science, sensory processing disorder, anger management, conflict management, special education, brain gym, yoga, meditation, healing and social awareness program.

Drawing upon my experience and motivated by the urge to make a difference in the life of others, I started a therapy centre for the below-poverty-line autistic children. I created an inclusive setup that combines all therapies. The therapies offered at the centre are designed to target particular behavioural anomalies, taking into consideration not only the state of the child but also his/her family background. I aspire to scale up the operations of the centre by improving our methods, and extending our services to more families in need.

Having gained a high-level knowledge in psychology as it relates to developmental disorder and having observed the applications of developmental psychology in practice, I wish to further improve broaden my services to majority of children , my knowledge in this area by going through the theoretical and analytical rigor that is imparted through the “NP Protocol”

I believe that this protocol would enhance my services of the subject matter and help realize my goal of making significant contributions to the field of developmental psychology. As a mother of two kids and the only benefactor of the services and treatment procedures that I have planned to implement, my financial resources are constrained. The formation of trust would be of immense assistance to help me pursue my services to the needy.
